Subrosa pro rider Kyle Hart has been dropping his brand of “Metal Mondays” edits on Instagram every week for well over a year now! Every Monday evening people tune in for new clips of Kyle and his favorite song of the week. Check out the latest Compilation edit, and an interview with Kyle about his Metal Mondays!
How did Metal Mondays Start? Honestly I got tired of seeing the same things over and over again and wanted something that represents what BMX is to me. So I started doing exactly what I wanted 15 seconds at a time haha DIY and “be the change you want to see in the world”
Has It been every Monday? I’ve done 58 officially without missing one but I did more before that as well. So probably like 69 in a row
Have you come close to missing one? Well I broke my elbow but thanks to the team and other homies coming through to help. I still love editing to metal so I usually just yell at people to do something scary haha
What percentage is filmed by yourself? 100 percent recently. I’ve had a lot of nice skatepark babe moms ask if they could help but nah baby. Getting a static angle that doesn’t suck is half the fun
What?s a typical timeline from start to posting? Living in AZ and working changes the factors but usually a day or two as long as I’m not getting kicked out of parks over and over again or my phone doesn’t melt.
How do you choose the music? I’m constantly looking for new metal bands so I usually have a solid list of songs I wanna use.
How much do you love metal? I love metal exactly as much as I hate the shit that gets used for BMX videos “nowadays”. Which is a hell of a lot. I’ve been listening to it and playing in bands for 15 years
Which Metal Mondays is your favorite? I did one to Origin late last year I believe at Clairemont skatepark. It just hit so hard to that song that my teeth exploded out of my skull
Will you ever let a band pay to be featured? Haha if it’s really worth it for them?! And definitely not if they suck.
Whats the craziest thing that?s happened during the filming? I usually do it really early and solo so nothing crazy happens haha. Mariano ran over my god damn tripod so I’ve been doing it on a two legged octopus for like 11 months.
Subrosa pro Kyle Hart puts his heart into each of his #metalmondays episodes, using whatever metal song he’s feeling that week.
