One of the hottest days of the Subrosa in Cali shop stop tour was at our last stop at Casual BMX (Incycle Bicycles) in Pasadena. By the time we got set up in the parking lot it was well over 100 degrees! With a bunch of riders showing up to support the jam, we new it was still going to be a good session. After riding the shop parking lot and our Subrosa Street Rail set ups, we hit the road to a famous ditch spot. I’m not sure of the name of it, but you’ve seen it in tons of videos and magazines and the crew has always wanted to ride it. We had a great session, but as temperatures seemed to rise even higher, we decided to grab some food, cool off, and meet back up at the local park. As the sun set we wrapped up our session at the park, and wrapped up our California trip. What a great day! We were super stoked to have a day with the crew over at Epic BMX!With a great turn out, and perfect weather, we were set up for an awesome day! We started out at Liberty Park, and with so many locals, and pros on hand, the session was heavy right from the start. After a bit of shredding the homies from The Common Crew led the way through Westminster to the shop. Pretty awesome to see so many people cruising down the street on BMX bikes, and knowing we were pedaling to another riding session I was stoked. Once we arrived to Epic, we set up the Subrosa Street Rail Roller Coaster, along with some obstacles from the shop, and people started to go to work! Like I said with tons of really good locals, along with the amount of pro riders on hand, the session was heavy! We also ate a ton of pizza, played footdown, premiered “What Could Go Wrong” and ended the night staying late, and hanging out in the parking lot. Thanks so much to Phu, Max, and the family at Epic, thanks to the Common Crew, and thanks to all the locals, and pros that joined in on a kickass day of BMX! We had a great time with everybody at Block Bikes in Lancaster, California! Rich Bartlett and the crew their have built a huge scene in their area and are providing much need support to the BMX riders in their area. They hold events, video premieres, and sweet rides, and while we were there we got to do all three! We started off with the first California premiere of the new Shadow Conspiracy video “What Could Go Wrong?”, and then we hit the road to an awesome spot and set up some Subrosa Street Rails. Another great BMX scene! Thanks to Rich and everyone at Block Bikes, and special thanks to all the locals that came to shred and party with us! Stay tuned to the edit coming soon!

We’re back from our “Subrosa in Cali” road trip trip, and we’re going to be posting about it all week. Today’s post is from our shop stop at Vans Bicycle Center in Yuba City, Ca! What an amazing shop! These guys take BMX seriously, and it shows. The Vanevenhoven family have built a huge shop, with a massive BMX dedicated section, that has created a huge scene in a tiny Norcal town. We had a great turn out, filled with some shredders! You're going to need to take a seat, turn the bass up, and enjoy 15 minutes of GOLD from Hoang Tran, Kyle Hart, Lahsaan Kobza, Scott Ditchburn, Nick Bullen (injured), Simone Barraco, Joris Coulomb, Kevin Kalkoff, Johnny Atencio (Johnny Ice), Jono Hopping and Matt Ray! With a crew like this, and Kanode behind the lens, you know you can expect greatness. Elvis would be proud. We worked hard, rode hard, partied hard, hosted a Park Party, had our annual team meeting, and introduced you to the Subrosa A-Frame Rail. What more could you possibly want from us? Day 4: Ditch day. We all loaded up in the van and headed to the north side of town to check out some classic Arizona ditches. The first stop was at a ditch spot with so much potential but the landing went into a tunnel and it was flooded… I tried convincing the dudes to get their toes wet, but it was a lost cause. We kept cruising and sessioned this amazing quarter pipe behind some rich folks' houses which you can see in one of the instagram videos we posted, but 10 minutes into the session the piggies showed up to ruin our fun times. The cop was cool though and tried to recommend some more ditches for us to go check out. After the fuzz busted us, we drove to another ditch: a flyout over a rail that Jono 180 bar bar'ed in his "New Year's Evil" edit. Hoang got some business done there, and it was back to the van to drive around for more spots. It can be pretty frustrating to drive for 20-30 minutes only to get shut down by skate stoppers or the police, and this day was definitely a frustrating one. Kyle was hungry for a rail spot so we checked out a few options in the cave creek area, but they were busts. We ended up riding a mellow up rail that Chadwick took us to, and Kyle got a dope clip. Everyone was pretty tired of driving around so after we rode the rail and got a clip, I said "CURB CUT TIME" and we sessioned the hell out of this manual pad right next to the rails. That really made everyone's day, and turned the frustration into joy. The day was done, and we had movie night at the crib. Day 5: After a day of long distance spot hunting, we thought it best to pedal around Tempe and see what we could find. We rolled up to campus and right off the bat, Tammy got the craziest I've ever seen in person. We all got pretty stoked off that, but were unsuccessful with finding spots for Kyle and Hoang. It was really fun just pedaling around, but no clips were had. We ended up filming some flat ground tricks at a tennis court with Nick Jones for TCU, ate some Taco Bell, and called it a day.
