So Comic Con was a wild weekend for us! From being the only BMX bikes displayed at the show to meeting and hangin with Slayer, we pretty much did it all! Check out our photo gallery from San Diego!
Thanks to our good friends at Nuclear Blast Records, we were able to debut the Subrosa/ Slayer complete bike range at Comic Con! For those who don’t know, Comic Con is the largest trade show in the United States and features comic books, T.V. shows, movies, music and more!
Slayer played a small, mostly private show at the House of Blues which we attended the night we got to San Diego. They seriously killed it, and played so many songs! After they ripped through a mix of old and new songs it was time to head backstage and meet the band. It was pretty insane how nice all the dudes were, and how stoked they were on the bikes! They each told us about seeing the bikes for the first time, how good they looked, and some tales they had about riding BMX when they were kids! An unbelievable experience for sure.
I had 4 flat Subrosa/ Slayer head tube badges made, and gave one to each of the guys in the band to thank them for letting us create these bikes with them. They were stoked, and Kerry King said his was going on his guitar case! I’m still tripping about that!
The next day we hit the convention to check out the show, and to see the bikes, and the Nuclear Blast booth! i couldn’t believe that our bikes were front and center right at the entrance to Comic Con! I thought it would take a while to find them, and they literally were the first thing you saw when you walked into the building.
We hung around the booth while Slayer had an autograph session and had them sign one of the completes. We talked with the dudes about the bikes a bit more, and cruised around the convention to see all the weird and wild stuff on display.
Still tripping off the whole experience! Check out the photos, and the Behind The Scene video!
Huge thanks to Slayer and their management team, Nuclear Blast Records for the concert and booth space, and to Chadwick and Jason for coming along and documenting the whole thing.
