We caught up with Subrosa pro rider Lahsaan Kobza and asked him some question about his signature “Code” frame. We added in a ton of detailed pics, and full spec so you can get stoked! This frame will be available worldwide this month!
You’ve had a handful of signature products already, is it different to you to have a frame?
Absolutely, having a signature frame is one of the biggest accomplishments in BMX to me, Being able to work with everyone at Subrosa/Sparkys on the specs, colors and sticker kit was amazing and such a blessing! I’ve always dreamed of having a Sig frame but now that it’s happening it almost doesn’t feel real haha!
You’ve been running a sample of your Code frame for months now, how does it ride?
The bike rides amazing I couldn’t ask for a better frame for my type of riding, it’s super solid all around but some of my favorite specs about it are the super strong wishbone that prevents the frame twisting or getting bent on bigger drops. Also, I’m super into the bigger head tube (75°/ 125mm) making the bike look cleaner with less spacers.
Where did the “Code” name come from?
The Code name came about from a saying I always use like “G- code” or “That was code” haha! I’ve always been into the slang term “Code” so it only made sense to name my frame that.
You’ve been working on a few edits over the winter. What have you been filming for, and can Subrosa fans look forward to a Code frame promo edit?
Yes I have a few new projects dropping, a new Casual BMX edit coming real soon! But my main focus is my code promo right now I’m trying to make this my best one yet, I’m really stoked on the footage I got so far so be on the lookout for that dropping sooner than you think.
Do you think you would race again if we made a race version?
ABSOLUTELY. That would be “Code” if we made a run of race frames haha! I’ve been hitting the track recently getting ready for that day happen. LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Any words for your fans?
Be on the lookout for this “Code” promo and thank you for all the support over the years, Don’t ever think it’s impossible for you to achieve your dreams, I always dreamed of being apart of the Subrosa team and having a signature frame and I can’t thank my supporters/fans enough for making it possible! You guys are the best. Much love and respect to all riders out there. S.F.F.S.
