This post is a little late, but better late then never. There’s a bar in Portland called The Rontom. Every Monday night they play an 80’s movie on the back wall of the building. Well last Monday it was Rad! So me and Travis rode our motorcycles to meet up with everyone. The movie started and people were psyched. Dean Shralp, Bristol, Hucke, Jordan, Boyd, Chet and Jackie, Ken, and even Mark Rhaina were all in attendence. It was probably the 150th time I’d seen the movie, but it’s still awesome everytime Cru sends it!

That beauty of a bike belongs to none other than Florida/ Pennsylvania shredder Ricky Bates. Rumor on the street, Ricky defeated an infamous Orlando gap, from one house to another, over a river! I’m willing to bet there was probably a gator or 2 swimming around as well. Mike from OBMX hit me off with some pics of Jeff and his Pandora. I think the front wheel helps with this and this. Check out Hoang in the Give D/Defgrip edit here. I have a few things on the RideBMX site. Check out my 5 favorite places here, some old photos from the Kink days, and some pics from the Tuff Luv art show we participated in. I’ll be adding a feature on our wheel soon.

After a complete search of everything from the van to our wallets, we barely made it into Canada. First stop was White Rock to meet up with Jason Enns who was awsome enough to show us around. Rich and Hoang had some super high speed trains around the bowl and into the big hip. Rich blasted some turn downs, and Hoang ripped a one footed table. After Hoang got rocked trying some tricks over this. so we headed out to check out some street spot. Enns knows where the good stuff is, but unfortunately cars were in the way of most of them. We got some food, hit up a wall ride that Eli blasted, and then made our way to the Richmond park. This is another old park, but everyone had a good time. The weather was perfect, so Hoang alley-ooped into a tree. We had our fill of parks, so we made our way into the city. We stumbled upon a familiar rail spot, where Eli and Rich both put moves down. Eli hopped both rails, and fillmed a line, then Rich went up the rail to 180. It was getting hot, and we’d been on a pretty tight schedule of long days and short nights, and this is how we all felt, so we called it a day and headed to Jimmy’s. After some refresments, and some food we just cruised around the city to check stuff out. The next day we hit up the college, and it was amazing. With the sun shining, and veiws like this, we knew we were in the right spot. At one point we even ran into Alistair Whitton, Harrison from Defgrip, and Jay Miron! That was pretty cool to say the least. Rich put in work on an over double peg line, and Hoang found an awesome wall ride. It had a curb at the bottom, but that didn’t slow Hoang down at all. Even with an audience he fired it out with ease. After 10 days on the road we were all pretty beat, so we loaded up, and way our way back to Portland to chill before everyone flew home. Thanks to Jason for showing us around, and be on the look out for the S.T.F.U. tour vid and zine!
