Go Home!

Leavin on a jet plane.

by Ryan Sher ~ January 24th, 2007

Taht’s right, our first roadtrip is over now. We managed to sqeeze a few more sessions in at the bumpy banks, where Hoang created this move. After that we hit some ledges, and Eli fired out an awesome rail hop. A huge thanks to Ben Ward and Ryan Fudger for the places to stay, and to Don Perdo’s for all the burritos!

We took a day..

by Ryan Sher ~ January 18th, 2007

We took a day off to chill, and decided to go to Tijuana. The place is just as crazy as everyone makes it out to be, but we had a great time. We got some food, shopped, saw donkeys painted like Zebras, listened to a Mariachi band, and saw a guy get chased out of a ditch by the boarder patrol. Everything was great until we lost Hoang, he was having such a good time, he decided to stay. I wish him the best of luck, now meet his replacement, Richardo Lopez. The next day we ended up at a college in San Diego, but much to our surprise school was in session. Gee, never woulda guessed we’d run into another ball up. We still managed to get a few things done, Rich, got a clip he’d been chasing the whole trip, and Hoang came back from Mexico just long enough to film this nose wheelie to 180. A big thanks to Fat Tony over at BMX Online for postin up some good shots of the team, and our bikes. You can see the full bike checks here.

Souplantation Round 2

by Ryan Sher ~ January 15th, 2007

San Diego is going a lot better than L.A. so far. Today Eli hit a good line at a school, while Hoang filmed and shot some pics over a rail. I’m not going to give away the trick that went down, but it was better than this. Tomorrow we’re off to Tijuana to do some team shots, and some tequila shots.

“I’m going to move there, get a job, and change my name to Lopez.” (Rich on Tijuana)

As you can see..

by Ryan Sher ~ January 14th, 2007

As you can see, today went awesome! Combine the man with temperatures in the high 20’s today was a little on the slow side. Hoang did some hippy hops, Eli did a downside whip off a ledge, and Rich got in some good lines. Here are some of the best quotes of the day.

“I’m going to leave the plastic on it in case I puke.” (Rich talking about his new pillow.)

“What color are those jeans, 1985?” (Rich)

“Mr. Sher, looks like you’ve been arrested before.” (Police officer)

“Tastes like purple.” (Rich)

“It’s tastes good.”(Ryan Sher) “Berry good?”(Ryan Fudger)

Cold is a flavor?

Today was awesome! Eli started the day off right with some manuvers on this thing, and I started off by filming it badly. 1 point Eli, zero points Ryan. We met up with the world famous K.C. Badger, and much to my suprise, you can’t jump over this sign. We all finished off the night with some celebrations and some sophisticated reading.

Why not start the day puking.

The crew headed over to Ride Magazine to start the day with some bike checks and team shots for BMX Online. Hoang get some pretty extreme e-mails, so before he check them he has to pad up. Eli got even more new parts for his bike, and got to hang out with Jeff Z. for a few before we headed out into the darkness with a generator and some lights. Thanks to the one and only B.Dubbs for the place to sleep.

California is warmer than Oregon

by Ryan Sher ~ January 10th, 2007

Day 1 is officially in the history books. Rich and I flew down to San Diego to meet up with Hoang and Eli. We had to meet up with Ron and The Sparky’s crew in LA, so we drove up, and stopped at Tip Plus to build our bikes up on the way. A big thanks to Barney and Nate for fixing up Eli’s whip. We rode various street spots, and ended the day at the famous white banks. Nothing beats Sizzler’s after a long day of riding, especially when you can leave with a ton of fruit stuffed in your clothes!

Shaka Brah!

You guessed it! The first Subrosa team trip is hitting the road on Monday! Eli, Rich, and myself will be flying down to San Diego to meet up with Hoang for 2 weeks of riding and filming in southern California. We’ll be filming for a web-released video, and shooting photos for a Ride UK article. Subrosa has been getting some extra love on some websites lately, check out Hoang, and myself on BMX Online. They also have a post about our new website here.. Last but not least our friends over at Fat BMX asked me a few questions here. Keep checking our website, and our MySpace for daily road trip updates and pictures.

O.C. Session

by Ryan Sher ~ January 3rd, 2007

We got a long enough break in the rain to actually ride outside, so we rounded up a little crew and headed over to the Oregon City skatepark. Some played a mellow game of B.I.K.E., and Ken trough down some “Dats” for my camera. Pretty good day if ya ask me.
